Through the program, you can earn a variety of incentive
awards, promotional gifts and company honors. These prizes
range from lighthearted gifts, such as chocolate terabyte RAID
configurations and frequent flyer miles, to complimentary on-site
technology briefings and a copy of the Members Report, a compilation
of selected data and research results based on the 1998 findings.
Overall, there were 107 "Top
Ten" winners in the 1998 program, representing 12 different
categories of VLDBs. Now entering its fifth year, the VLDB Survey Program has attained world class status, with current participants representing a broad cross-section of large and successful companies. As in the past, the 1998 program was conducted in partnership with Database Programming & Design magazine. All survey responses were tabulated and analyzed in early 1998 and the results were presented by Richard Winter, president of Winter Corporation, at the VLDB Summit in Los Angeles, March 4-7, 1998. In addition, the winners names, company information, category of excellence and selected research findings were the subject of a feature article in the August 1998 issue of Database Programming and Design magazine. The 2002 VLDB Survey Program begins in July 2001. Be sure to visit this site again in the summer to obtain a survey. Earn both professional and personal rewards and learn if your VLDB is among the world's largest databases. |
